This page summarizes KnowledgePlex content about CDC Capacity.
CDCs - or Community Development Corporations - are incorporated, nonprofit organizations situated in urban or rural distressed communities that work to improve those communities. CDC capacity - or capacity building - refers to activities aimed at improving the ability of a CDC to deliver, expand, and adapt in order to achieve its mission and goals, solve problems, and manage solutions. Capacity-building activities include direct financial assistance to help defray organizational costs, technical assistance on program and project ideas or on organizational problems, networking opportunities, and training. Such efforts aim not only to help CDCs meet an immediate need or solve a current problem, but also to increase the ability of CDCs to address similar needs or problems in the future.
