Walter Moreau is one of the Fannie Mae Foundation's 2006 James A. Johnson Fellows. He is executive director of Foundation Communities (Austin, Texas). He has also worked as a consultant wih 20 nonprofits and public affordable housing organizations. He developed Texas' first Individual Development Account matched savings program for low-income residents and led the creation of a range of asset building tools. He is also the recipient of the 2006 Practitioner of the Year Award from the National NeighborWorks Association.
