An emerging movement in Central Indiana is bringing together advocates of community design, transportation and health to support healthy and active living. Initially conceived in the summer of 2006, this movement has prompted the development of a new coalition, Health by Design, which has a diverse and growing membership.

Members and partners include non-profit organizations, government entities, academia, private industries, businesses, and environmental groups. Health by Design is comprised of community planners; designers; architects; builders; and transportation, public and environmental health, recreation and safety personnel.
